High Protein Layer Feed 19%

(4 customer reviews)

Price is per pound

Complete feed for all layer hens past 16 weeks of age.  GMO Free, High Protein Layer Feed is sold bulk, per pound, bring your own container.

GMO Free, High Protein Layer Feed is High Performance at 19% Protein, where most feeds are only 16%.  The extra proteins are from alfalfa meal, a much higher quality protein that just soy.  The amino acids gained in this feed are critical for optimum chicken health, and almost completely lacking in most feeds because of the cost, and labeling law does not require amino acids to be listed.  This feed is a Fertrell formula.

All feeds we use and sell on the farm are NON-GMO Project Certified.

Our feed is ground fresh the day we pick it up and only enough for a month on the farm. This is extremely important to the health of the animal as after 30 days grain starts to oxidize and lose nutrients. Most bagged feeds at the store are 90 days old as soon as they are put on the shelf because of the logistical chain.

We purchase in bulk from a local grainery the purchases from Local Amish Farms.  This is an extremely short distribution chain, uses no small bags, and we encourage customers to use reusable containers like buckets or trash cans. Because of all of this, our Carbon Footprint is extremely small, all the money stays local, and we are not subject to larger distribution chain problems like we saw in 2021.

Use our Food Grade Feed Buckets for easy “Take a Bucket, Leave a Bucket” swapping program.  Just leave your empty bucket and take a full bucket! One buckets holds about 30 lbs of feed.

This layer feed is nothing short of miraculous. I first spoke with Seth back in November 2021 about my dull hens not laying and he suggested trying the layer feed, so I purchased some. Following his instructions, I integrated it into my hens diet slowly, then fed them the layer food exclusively. After about 6 weeks on this feed, they laid their first egg in 4-5 months! Now my 5 hens are producing 2 per day, which is a huge improvement over zero eggs! By the way, I’ve also noticed an uptick in my chicken’s feathers, perkiness and overall demeanor.
    Highly recommended.

This feed has been amazing for our chickens and much healthier than what you’ll find at the big box stores. We have been using it for 9 or 10 months and many of our hens continue to lay throughout the winter months, we attribute it largely to their food. Customer service is great, Redemption Springs really cares about their customers, and the products are top notch.

Hi I was just there this morning to get the 19% layer feed. I have been trying out different feed for the past couple months, trying to find some thing the girls would go crazy ever. The feed that I bought in the past they would munch on it and that’s it. They’re kind of done with it, they would go back to the Tsc pallet container I had in there. Well, I put the feed in that I got from you. These girls will not stop eating absolutely crazy. It’s like they haven’t had food in a few days. That’s the way they’re eating it right now. Just thought I would let you know my experience. I will be back in a few weeks to get other stuff you guys have for sale there, and probably a lot more 19% layer feed lol. Thank you.

I wanted to thank you all for the great experience when I picked up chicken feed and some greens for the chickens. I’ve had issues with the chickens not producing eggs. I picked up the feed on Saturday and fed it to my chickens on Sunday, by Tuesday my egg production had doubled! I have Isa Browns which in the past would very often lay an egg almost every day. With the change in feed all of the chickens are now laying and most of the time I am receiving an egg a day from them. It’s an amazing difference but just confirms all my research and concerns with the “name brand” food sold at all the chain stores. In my opinion, there is something with that feed that dramatically slows egg production. I was hoping for a change but I did not expect it to happen so quickly and sustain itself so well. I will be sharing a few buckets with neighbors that have chickens as well. Looking forward to our next visit! Thanks Seth!
