True Life Skills Camp
Building Up Young Men in Body and Mind
You look at him and see the man he’s becoming, but you also see the gaps the modern world has left behind. In an era of screens and schedules, the “backyard lessons” that used to be passed down through generations—the grease on the knuckles, the pride of a fixed engine, and the quiet strength of a man who knows his worth—are becoming a lost art.
Whether your son’s father never had the chance to learn these skills himself, or you are navigating this journey as a single mother, you know he needs more than just a hobby. He needs to know he is capable. He needs to hear the truth about what it means to be a man of character.
True Life Skills Camp is a week-long immersion into the “old school” way of growing up. We aren’t just teaching hobbies; we are passing down the heritage of responsibility, grit, and heart.
The Skills (The “Back in the Day” Essentials)
Under the guidance of mentors who care, your son (ages 11–18) will get his hands dirty and his mind sharpened. Every day is spent in the field, under a car, or in the shop.
-
- Car Maintenance & Small Engine Repair: Understanding the machines that move us.
- Hand Tools & Lawn Equipment Safety: The confidence to fix what is broken.
- Firewood Processing & Basic Physics: Learning how the world works through physical effort.
- Animal Husbandry: The responsibility of caring for something smaller than yourself.
The Lessons (The Character of a Man)
Alongside the dirt and grease, we tackle the “Real World” lessons that define a man’s soul:
-
- The Design of a Man: Understanding how God made men to protect and provide.
- Taking Care of Others: Learning that strength is for service, not just for self.
- Conquering Demons: Facing personal struggles with correct thinking and discipline.
- Personal Responsibility: Taking ownership of his actions and his future.
