A easy to make chicken broth useful in soups, casseroles, stews and more. Very healthy and tastes so good the whole family will love it!

Ingredients

2.5 lb Chicken Backs

1 Medium Yellow Onion, quartered

3 Ribs of Celery, quartered

3 Large Carrots, peeled & quartered

2 MGM Bay Leaves

1 T. minced garlic

¼ Bunch fresh parsley

¼ c. Fresh basil

1 T. MGM Salt-Free Poultry Rub

12 c. Water (plus 20c on reserve)

1-2 T. Sea Salt (to taste)

Method

1. In an 8qt stock pot, combine all ingredients except salt and water.

2. Add water until everything is covered (approximately 12c) and bring to a boil

over high heat.

3. Reduce to low and simmer uncovered for 6-8 hours, adding water as needed to

keep all ingredients submerged – salt to taste.

4. Strain, then allow to cool and pressure can or refrigerate, freeze, or use

immediately to make soup.

5. Makes approximately 3.5 to 4 quarts.

Herbed Garlic Chicken Broth Variation

To create an herbed version, replace MGM Salt-Free Poultry Rub with 2

tablespoons MGM Spuds. Do not add any salt until you taste during the final

stages, as Spuds is a salted blend. Depending on your tastes, no additional salt may

be needed.
