Woodworking for Tweens

🪵 Woodworking with Tweens (Ages 9–12) ⚒️

Take creativity and craftsmanship to the next level with Woodworking with Tweens, a six-week, hands-on woodworking class designed especially for kids ages 9–12. This engaging farm-based workshop combines practical skills, tool safety, and nature connection, giving tweens the chance to explore woodworking in a fun, safe, and meaningful way.

Over six weeks, students will complete five exciting projects:

Bee Hotel
Wood coasters
Live edge clock
Bat Box
Log Stool

Each project helps build real woodworking skills while teaching the importance of sustainability and wildlife support. Tweens will discover how these creations benefit the environment — from providing homes for pollinators and bats to using natural materials responsibly.

Students will learn to safely use both hand tools and beginner-friendly power tools, such as drills, sanders, and jigsaws, all under careful supervision. They’ll practice measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood projects while gaining confidence and independence. Every session emphasizes safety, precision, and creativity, helping tweens develop patience, focus, and pride in their work.

In addition to tool use, students will explore topics like wood selection, grain direction, natural finishes, and eco-friendly craftsmanship. Each class connects woodworking back to nature, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the forests and ecosystems that provide our materials.

By the end of the six-week series, students will take home multiple completed projects they can proudly display or use — each one a reflection of their effort, imagination, and growing skill.

• Time: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Sibling/Friend Discount: $25 off for each additional sibling or friend.

Full Class Discount: $20 off Everyones fee if 10 students sign up.  So tell a friend!
